What Cake intelligence does

One data room for your raise needs.

Your deck, cap table, financials, and signed documents in a single space, shared with exactly the people who need to see them. No more chasing versions or digging through email for a signed SAFE.
Live cap table

Your cap table, live in the room.

Other data rooms just hold files, so an abridged cap table is one more upload to keep current. Cake holds the ownership data itself, and the cap table renders live in the room, set per person to none, summary, or full register.

Access, per person and per item.

Nothing is shared until you choose to share it. Set access person by person: your lead gets everything, a prospective investor gets three folders, your lawyer gets one file. Presets handle the repeat work, so granting access to nine investors doesn't mean nine separate setups.

Always know who's in the room.

Know who's looked, and when. Every open is a timestamped entry, not a counter, and you get an email the moment someone first views a link. Each link is password protected and named to one recipient, so no account is needed, just the right password. Closing the room locks the record: the cap table as it stood, the full manifest, and the complete access log.

The Cake Way

One data room, four very different views.

Your lead investor has been circling for weeks and needs everything. A prospective investor just took a first call and gets three folders. Your lawyer needs the one file they asked for, nothing else. A new contact who emailed this morning gets nothing, until you decide.

Everyone opens the same room link. What they see is set person by person, not folder by folder.

Can a recipient tell what else is in the data room?

No. A recipient only ever sees what's been granted to them, so a partial view never reveals its own edges. There's no indication of what other folders or files exist.

Can users download or forward files from my data room?

Data Room can't stop someone from forwarding or screenshotting a file, but it makes sure you always know. Every open is logged with a timestamp, so you can see exactly who looked at what, and when.

How secure is a Data Room link?

Each link belongs to one person, needs a password, and expires after 30 days. Renew it if you need more time, or revoke it the moment you don't. The platform is ISO 27001 certified, so the same standard covers everything in the room.

What happens when I close the room?

Closing the room is final. Access ends for everyone right away, and Cake keeps a permanent record: the cap table as it stood, every file, the full activity log, and exactly who had access.

Does a recipient need a Cake account to view the room?

Yes, that's what keeps it secure. Recipients sign in with Google or email, and two-factor authentication is available if your plan includes it. The platform is ISO 27001 certified, so that same standard covers account access too.

How do you manage cap table documents and due diligence requests in a data room, ahead of a Series A raise?

Stage everything in one room: deck, cap table, financials, and signed documents. Then decide who sees what. Set access person by person: your lead investor gets full access, a prospective investor gets a few folders, your lawyer gets just the one file they asked for. Because the cap table renders live from Cake's own ownership data, there's no separate export to keep updated, what investors see is always current. Every open is logged with a timestamp, so you always know who's looked at what, and when.

Can Cake centralize your data room for due diligence during a Series B?

Yes. The cap table itself renders live from Cake's ownership data, so as your due diligence list grows and your cap table gets more complex, investors are never looking at a stale export. Closing the room locks the record: the cap table as it stood, the full manifest, and the complete access log, so you keep a clean audit trail no matter which round you're running.
