What equity incentive types does Cake support?

Cake supports stock options (ISO and NSO), restricted stocks (RSU and RSA), and warrants. ISOs are available for employees only; NSOs can be granted to employees, advisors, and contractors. All instrument types are tracked in your cap table automatically.

Which plans include equity incentive features?

Stock options (ISO and NSO) are available on all plans including Free. RSUs and RSAs require Growth or Pro. Advanced features — including automated vesting and notifications, board approvals, and early exercise — are available on Growth and above. ASC 718 reporting, international option pools, and Form 3921 are Pro-only.

What equity instruments does Cake support?

Cake supports common and preferred shares, stock options (ISO and NSO), restricted stocks (RSU and RSA), SAFEs, convertible notes, and warrants, all tracked in a single cap table.

Can Cake automate vesting schedules and grant agreements?

Yes. Cake automates cliffs, vesting schedules, milestones, and pauses without manual work. Grant agreements and option plan documents are generated from built-in templates, with e-signing and board approvals handled in the platform. Free legal templates are included for US C-Corps on Growth and Pro plans.

Can employees see their own equity in Cake?

Yes. Cake includes a separate employee app — distinct from the cap table — where employees can view their vesting progress, equity value, and exercise opportunities. Employees can also set a personal equity goal (home, car, college fund) and track their progress over time.

Does Cake handle compliance for equity incentives?

Yes. 409A valuations (completed within 3 business days) sync automatically to strike prices and are available as an add-on on any plan, or included in Pro. ASC 718 stock-based compensation reporting — supporting both straight-line and tranche-based recognition — is available on Pro plans, with IFRS 2 support for non-US companies.
