Kim Hansen is the CEO and Co-Founder of Cake Equity, leading the company’s mission to make equity ownership motivate the whole team, from cap table to compliance to culture. With over 20 years of experience in product and technology, Kim started Cake to fix a problem he saw firsthand as a founder, and has grown it into an equity platform built for US companies from their first SAFE to their most complex round.
As a technical founder turned CEO, Kim brings a unique perspective on scaling B2B SaaS companies, combining deep product expertise with strategic leadership. Under his guidance, Cake has challenged the traditional equity management space with audit-ready compliance, intuitive design, and features built for the way modern startups actually raise and grow.
Kim is passionate about empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs, with a personal vision to help 1 million founders succeed. His leadership philosophy centers on using technology as an enabler for innovation, building high-performing teams, and creating conscious, sustainable business practices. Originally from Denmark, Kim is based in the US, where he spends most of his time working directly with the founders, CFOs, and legal teams Cake builds for.
